Editorial Policy

Express General is editorially independent. We are not owned by, funded by, or contractually obligated to any airline, hotel chain, booking platform, or destination marketing organisation. Our editorial decisions - what we cover, how we cover it, and what we leave out - are made solely by our editorial team.

We prefer primary sources - airline fare rules, consular websites, airport authority publications, and official government portals. Where we cite secondary sources, we name them. Where we rely on traveller reports, we identify them as anecdotal and cross-reference where possible.

Every article is fact checked against source material before publication. Numbers, dates, fees, and rules are verified individually. A rotating internal review cycle re-checks published articles at least once per quarter and after any significant regulatory change.

When we update an article, we change the 'last updated' date at the top. Meaningful factual corrections are noted inline with a short correction notice. Serious corrections are also logged in an internal change history that we make available on request.

If Express General ever accepts sponsored content, partnerships, or advertising, it will be clearly labelled as such. Sponsored content will never masquerade as editorial. We do not accept payment to write favourably about a product, airline, destination, or service.

Some articles may contain affiliate links to third party services. Where they do, we disclose this in the article. Affiliate arrangements do not influence which products or services we recommend.

We take reader feedback seriously. Corrections can be sent to corrections@expressgeneral.com. Suggestions for new topics can go to editors@expressgeneral.com. We read everything, even when we cannot respond individually.
